Content Llama

When you visit the Content Llama website you are greeted with the words: “Women-founded. Women-led. Powered by inclusion.” Founded by Joleen Looney and Karina Kelly in 2019, this exciting tech company based in the North West, promises to remove the headache of sourcing and transforming all your product content for website merchandising.  Co-founder Karina Kelly is proud of the quote on the website and she is one of the many female founders in the tech industry making their mark.  Speaking to the Sligo Champion, Karina says their product makes content management easier than ever before:

“At Content Llama we know that you want product content that leads your team to new heights and helps shoppers become loyal buyers. In order to do that, you need product images and descriptions displayed perfectly – for every product you sell. 

The problem is that there are just too many products to manage with quality, creativity and accuracy. We believe that it’s ridiculous these products are so hard to display in an engaging way for consumers. That’s why we built Content Llama. Still, in its infancy, the company has already attracted some big brand names including  Aer Rianta, Lifestyle Sports and Walmart owned US retailer Moosejaw.

Looney, who has a background in technology solutions; 

“There is no systematic way for a retailer to gather, organise and transform content from hundreds of brands for the thousands of products they carry”

“At the moment, this can involve maybe 50 steps and dozens of different channels. As a result, retailers are left with a process that is slow, manual, costly, and rife with gaps and errors. We automate the task, work directly with Brands to source the highest quality product content that is approved and speaks to the Brands message about that product. Our platform gives completion timelines of days rather than weeks and our platform gateway can work remotely to keep new products constantly flowing to our customers’ websites. To help build the business Karina secured a place on the New Frontiers Programme which is a start-up programme funded by Enterprise Ireland delivered through the Innovation Centre at  IT Sligo and the CoLab at Letterkenny IT.  Karina really saw the benefits of the New Frontiers Programme;
